I'M BACK A YEAR LATER!
I went to the doctor a few weeks ago for an infection on my second to smallest toe. It was moving up my foot so I thought I should probably get on an antibiotic. I went to a walk in clinic and was wearing flip flops due to shoes hurting it to much.
When the Doctor and PA came in to look, they put on gloves and were pointing at my feet as if I was a Leper. Trying to figure out if it had got infected from a spider bite or an ingrown hair. Turned out it was a spider bite. They then went on to tell me I had a bad case of athletes foot. Big Surprise. Not really. I mean I am not the best about wearing my flip flops at the gym. After totaling grossing out both doctors with my black toenails and athletes foot and infected spider bite, the PA came back for the treatment.
He saw that I had moles on my feet and encouraged (scared) me into making a appointment with a dermatologist (which I need to do anyway). He then went on to tell me to see a podiatrist (foot doctor) because my feet were in bad shape.
The PA was an overweight 40 year old whole probably hadn't exercised in years.
He went on to tell me that I needed to wash my running shoes and quit running so often. HAHA. This guys is a joke I thought to myself who washes running shoes, you throw them away and get new ones every 3-4 months why would you risk ruining them in the wash machine prior to that. I tried to explain to him that that was not going to happen. He went on to tell me that I was going to have problems with my feet from exercising. I thought "wow, really, I bet I will have less health problems being fit then you will have being a middle aged fat ass." I know that wasn't the nicest thought but who was he to tell me to not run as much when he probably has never run a day in his life. SO what that I have a few black toenails.
I left feeling pretty lousy, I had an infected foot, athletes foot, beat up feet, possible skin cancer, and horrible feet. Talk about a great way to start a week. I go to the Dermatologist a week from Wednesday for the moles on the bottom of my feet so we will see what happens.
And guess what I have doubled my running millage since I went to the doctor haha.
