Politically correct: This goes a little over board I think. This got me thinking after I went and voted. On the backside of the ballot there was a vote yes or no to change wording in the constitution about taking the word idiot out. I mean yeah idiot is slang now but it used to be a defined word that described someone. Well this just got me thinking about other ways to be politically correct.
For example, African American is politically correct when talking about a black person. But seriously does this make since. I mean I am not a Irish/englis/german American, I think saying African American is like saying where I am originally from. Maybe if a black american was from Africa and lived there part of their life it would be ok but seems more degrading, but what do I know I am not black so do not know how I would feel about it.
alright sorry this is short, no means to take offense to anything I said. Just thinking through something.

busy this week
I am trying to get everything done at work to be gone next week. Lots to do and lots on my mind like little stuff I need to do before Saturday and with the bachlor party tomorrow night and the rehearsal and dinner friday I gotta do everything tonight. craziness!
The Kia of Des Moines ad is "Up to 7000 minimum trade"
"up to" its like they say up to and minimum trade which one is it the contradict each other.
I hate their ads anyone and the fact that the ads are tacky and the cars are crappy kind of goes hand in hand I guess.

Fireproof
So Lindz and I went and saw the movie everyone has been talking about. Everyone says how the movie has made guys buy their wives or significant others gifts and start treating them differently. The movie as a whole was good, this is one of those movies where the message is what is important and what makes it a good movie. The acting was a little rough, it took me about 20 mins into the movie before I could stop focusing on the acting and start focusing on the message. The movie was in the big theater at Jordan Creek, I was surprised by this after coming out of the movie. Fireproof was was in your face about a lot of different things, like how to treat your spouse, knowing Jesus Christ as your personal savior, and how these two things work together. A movie like this may have a effect on peoples hearts and my anger people that don't want to hear the message of the movie.Overall I thought the movie was pretty good and going into getting married on Saturday it shows a lot of what not to do. I would recommend the movie to just about anyone in a relationship. But when you go to watch it focus on the message not the acting.

Service during work hours
I am so sick of having to leave work and go meet services people at my house. The worst though was today when they were supposed to bring the fridge door (has a tiny dent) for the second time. The first time the one they brought was dented really bad. So when the lady called I was like as long as they take the door out and make sure it isn't damaged before they call me at work and have me meet them there. She assured me it would go smoothly. So I go meet them out there at 10 a this morning and guess what they had the complete wrong door. Big waste of my time 15 minutes out there 10 minutes there while they try and figure out their challenging job of getting the right thing on the truck and checking to make sure it is right and then 15 minutes back to work. Thats 40 minutes wasted of my day not to mention the gas I wasted going over there and back and take that times two because this is the second time they have done this. So of course I had to call and let them know what I though (chew them out) and find out the person I need to talk to is gone today. So I call the builder I mean they are the reason I am having to do this in the first place. I had to meet a guy there yesterday to replace cabinets he had everything he needed it was quick at a set time so that worked out. Now I am supposed to meet Direct TV out there between 9-1 I told them I couldn't afford to sit and wait for them to get there so I convinced them to call me 30 min before they were going to come and it is a good thing cause it is almost 12 and they have yet to call. Hopefully this afternoon goes smoothly with Direct TV otherwise I am going to blow up. Customer service at its best once again.

knowing "people"
It is very important to know the right people these days. People can get you a long way. Name dropping in the right situation can land you business and could get you a job. It can also get you good deals among other things. What is really important is keeping a good relationship with a lot of people. Things can turn on you real fast if you piss the wrong person off. I am not speaking of any specific situation I just think it is important to have positive relationships with people in general because it will help you get somewhere in life. If you are known to many as an ass hole there are going to be a lot of closed doors. When you have a negative experience with people it can turn around and really burn you or them depending on which way the door swings. I am not the type to hold grudges but I know people that will stop at nothing until someone they dislike is drivin into the ground.

Let me Make something CLEAR
What I write in my blog is Rants and Raves, or whatever I feel at the time. I am not trying to be politically correct and not trying to state the facts, just trying to voice my opinions and some reasoning behind my views. This is a different from the BIG word mumbo jumbo you will read on political site or news sites or hear on TV. This is a real person talking not trying to follow the rules of anything out there. Just to make that clear.
Another thing is I respect everyone that has their own opinion and think thats what is great about this wacked out country we live in. Everyone has there own views on different issues and thats great. I don't agree with everything a republican does or everything a democrat does but I do have OPINIONS on somethings that I have noticed that go unsaid just about everywhere else.
As for our welfare programs, they are messed up now and obviously don't work but there are people out there that need these programs to survive and there are people that deserve to take advantage of it, but the problem is, it is not regulated enough to make it fare.
Anyway I got to get back to work just thought I would clear up what this blog was all about.
My writing doesn't always make sense going from brain to keyboard but thats how I like it I am not checking these things over to hand into a english teacher.

So my sister-in-law wrote this note on facebook I am assuming after the debates last night. But it just seems right for everyone my age that is for Obama because he makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside when he talks maybe you should start taking a deeper look. I mean how do you feel about going to work everyday working your ass off knowing that some low life is sitting on their ass watching their new big screen and paying for their food with food stamps that YOU paid for. Well the democrats are all for increasing the aid for these types of programs....so as long as your ok with supporting the lazy asses of society with your paycheck then VOTE FOR CHANGE....your change going to other people instead of into your bank account.
Here is her note...
Election Views Excerpts - Socialism/Racism
Although I can respect Barrak Obama, I cannot in good faith vote for someone who seems to want to take our country closer and closer toward the ideas of a socialist society. Our country was founded on the principle of each individual deserving the right to the PURSUIT of happiness. We are not entitled to it! As soon as the government starts taking over the private sector, our freedoms begin to dwindle. It is not the job of the government to take my money and spread it out among the people. That’s what they do in China (communism/socialism)! And I’m pretty sure the majority of Americans would rather suffer a bit financially than be oppressed. That seems to be Obama’s idea of a good government and the moment you head towards any type of high socialism, it gets a little scary!
So ok, let’s rescue this country. The government has a right to do that. But once it’s rescued…. BACK OFF! We need less government involvement in our everyday lives, not more!
I am so tired of hearing about racism in this campaign. If Colin Powell were running, hands down, I'd vote for him. He's brilliant, honorable and has years of experience. Obama did nothing to allay MY fears. I truly believe that this man is dangerous. People revert most of the time, there are exceptions, to how they grew up. Principles/actions/doctrines/beliefs were ingrained into our brains from the time we were born. As a full grown adult, how often do we really deviate from our past (get past points of immaturity and adolescence). Obama has no experience and operates on what other people in his party tell him to do. One person puts it this way, "In all reality, if he were not black, he would have been laughed out of the Democratic primaries by his own party because of his lack of experience. His party is saying that the only reason someone would NOT vote for him is that he is black. The reverse must then be true. The only reason they are voting for him is that he IS black. They are setting our country up for a civil war; if McCain wins, we may be looking at riots of record proportions." (News Forum quote). He truly doesn't have experience. Running a campaign and voting undecided in the Senate is not political experience in my eyes.
And although democrats have controlled the House and Senate for the past 2 years, some people think the following...
I think that McCain won but I really want Obama to win the election so this country can learn what the Democrats are really about. They will also be in charge of everything and will no longer be able to blame the other party for everything even though they will try. Everyone thinks they are for the working man but in reality they love welfare and social programs and will raise taxes to support them. I have nothing against helping people who really need help but I’m sick and tired of my tax dollars going to people who don’t have a clue to what work is. I live in South Carolina which is such a nice place to live but the medicaid and food stamp program is so full of fraud and abuse that it’s sickning. The politicians will do nothing about it because they are afraid of losing votes. That’s one example of why I’m looking forward to the democrats being in charge of eveything so americans will wake up and realize why the democrats have had trouble holding onto the white house over the years.
p.s. McCain truly isn't even a Republican. He's a democrat in Republican clothes. Sarah Palin is a Republican. It blows my mind that people even try to compare McCain to Bush. McCain is much farther "left" than Bush is.

Wendys is fast food!
I keep hearing this commercial on the radio that is a Wendys commercial and they say at the end of all of them "It's way better then fast food, It's Wendys" Sorry Wendys but you are as fast food as it gets. SICK. I can't believe a fast food companies marketing campaign and slogan is based on saying they are not fast food, is this so the fatties that eat that crap feel better about themselves? Thats about the last thing we need is fat people thinking they are not eating fast food when they have Wendys Those resturants should have to have a warning label on them like cigarettes. I mean the number one reason our health care costs are high is because of fat people, and then smokers. Thats all for now, but stop blaming health care companies for high rates and start blaming fat people and smokers.

Jimmy Johns
I think Jimmy Johns yesterday did bad things to my stomach. I eat there every once and a while and have never had a problem but since I ate it yesterday I have had a horrible stomach ache and I am convinced it is from that. Really boring post today because I am reworking a design that I spent all last week on and by reworking I mean starting over my last one sucked and everyone agreed.

Sarah Palin
I love all the talk about her. Every liberal out there has something to say about Palin, how dumb she is, how inexperienced she is, how she doesn't know what shes doing, and on and on and on. But guess what people, she is running for vice pres, shes not the one we should be focused on. Personally I think shes great, she has good tastes in glasses and shes a hockey mom. Hockey moms are tough they put up with a lot and even with her flaws that everyone likes to focus on, technically she has more executive experience then that other guy who is running for PRESIDENT not VICE-President. I mean if we want to get technical. Shes real, not a fake figure like Hilary or even the other 2 candidates along with her running mate.
McCain is one smart man, he brings her in and all of the sudden all the democrats start ripping on her for everything and complain about her and almost forget that they are going against McCain not Palin directly. He must be a pretty bright OLD man. Did you see his mom who is like in her 90's stand up and wave at his speech during the republican convention shes pretty wrinkly but still kicking.
haha I hope everyone enjoys this...

COFFEE

So Coffee in the morning is my new thing. Wakes me up and gets me moving. Today is the first day I put the coffee in a travel mug thing that I probably was given when I had my Jeep considering it has "Only in a Jeep" on the front of it. I cant drink it black but with a little coffee mate french vanilla I am good to go. I should have probably made sure all the soap was rinsed off the cap though, that mixed with coffee tastes horrible. So this whole coffee drinking thing also saves me money because I no longer go to starbucks as often.
