This is a follow up. Watched the final episode last night, what a great show. I should have work out before watching it I felt like I should be loosing weight too haha. Those people should be so proud how they have changed their lives completely it is amazing. Seeing their emotion was great. Alright I am looking forward to the next one starting, looks like it will be a good one. People that were on up to 9 medications and have 3 diseases starting out that are now on NO medications at all. Type two diabetes GOES AWAY! amazing these people should be an inspiration to people thats health is going down hill. I mean Heba and Ed were a couple that can now get prego and don't have to worry about a unsafe pregnancy because of weight.
On another note. have you seen those Xbox 360 commercials where its the persons face and then goes around to a cutout of their head, I guess they are netflix too. These are the creepiest commercials I don't get it. Weird.

The Biggest Loser
It has been a while, sorry, I have been busy. Last night Lindz and I were watching the Biggest Loser on TV. What a show. How inspiring, really these people look great after 11 weeks they don't even recognize themselves. They workout hard, I mean really hard makes me feel like I don't work out hard enough. It really inspired me to workout harder and have weight lose goals. It is just great to see these people motivated to get healthy, there is so much this country could learn from this show. Why is everyone so fat...sorry blunt but really we were talking about diets at work and which one is the trend and so on. My approach to dieting is EAT LESS AND WORK OUT MORE. plus don't eat after 7:30 at night if you get hungry have a glass of water. I don't always live by these "standards" but I think it is worth a try. Everyone should watch this show. These people were huge before and never saw themselves as fat. wake up people.

Support Our Troops
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmjhUPa65mk
After watching this video a friend had posted on their facebook status I couldn't help but feel for these men and women and their families, what they go through for the people of this country. Election aside I think we really need to remember and to think and pray for these men and women and their families. Seems like the media has forgot about these people while the election has been going on kind of nice not hearing all the medias negativity about it, but sad that it looses all the recognition these people get. I for one am thankful for these men and women who are out there so we can live normal lives back here. Think about those who are away this Thanksgiving and Christmas, don't forget about these guys over there because they are doing it for us.
Like this even does any justice to what they are doing, but people need to stop saying "cut off funding for the war" and things like that because there are a lot of soldiers over there that need encouragement for what they put up with on a day to day basis a long with their families.

car buying
So Lindz needs a new car...BAD. I feel bad for her driving the car she does I know she hates it, and I don't trust it. As bad as I want to buy something cool like a Land Rover Discover (I heard the are full of problems) and no it get 11 MPG but she would look good driving it. haha. So then I go back to the Corolla I mean it will be almost new and be a very reliable great car to have. Then I go look at saabs, BMW's that are a little older and a few more miles but still in the price range, I still go back to the Toyota's I know they are great cars that last so I think as long as Lindz drives it and likes how it drives that is what we will be getting seems to be practical and being practical is a good idea right now.

Stir something up.
On my way to lunch Tuesday I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.
Once in the restaurant my server had on an "Obama 08" tie. Again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn, even though the actual recipient deserved money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
(not me something I read)
As a side note you will think that this is not relevant because it will only affect those making 250k or more a year, but I but the owner of the restaurant could be in that range, then he hires less people, the people that work there work more, and maybe he can't afford to have them all working there so some get fired, and the ones that stay have to work harder but do not earn more money. Interesting if you look at it this way right? I mean your boss having less take home will probably end up making you have less take home if they can still afford to keep you on staff. Especially if you work for a small company.

Wii?? DVD player....guess not
So I was thinking we could have less cords going to the back of the TV that is placed on the mantel by using the wii as a dvd player and not having another one downstairs. To my shock and surprise the Wii doesn't even have a DVD player. Weird. Seems like every other gaming system has one. Thats stupid if you ask me. I guess the blu ray player is the must have right now but for $250 and to have to pay more for dvds that I never buy, because I mostly just rent out of the redbox it is not worth the money until it becomes mainstream. Thats what I hate about the wii, I mean you can get on wireless internet but the thing doesn't play dvds I dont get it.

The Neti Pot

This thing is genius, I love it. I have a lot of sinus problems, I used to get a lot of really bad sinus headaches so after a few visits to the ENT doc, he told be I had broken my nose in 3 places and if I had nose surgery I would not have sinus headaches anymore, well it was the worse surgery ever absolutely miserable, but it seemed to work for a little while. Then I started to get more headaches and became way more sensitive to smells. I can't handle different laundry detergents, dryer sheets, lotion of any scent, different shampoo, basically anything different. I feel bad for Lindz she has to live with me and has to be careful what she uses for her hair and so on cause she knows I can't handle smells. When I say I can't handle them I mean I get congested and a bad sinus headache almost instantly and start feeling sick. The absolute worst smells that I can't handle at all are those plug in air fresheners or car ones. Candles are also not allowed.
So yeah, I am basically a weird-o. Ha sorry. But on Tuesday on my way home from work I stopped and bought a Neti Pot which I had heard of before but thought was to weird to try, well I have become desperate so I bought one. I have now used it 4 times and am already noticing the difference this thing is great, hopefully no more addicting nose sprays for a while. I am going to post a pic of this thing weirdest thing but it works and works awesome. check out some youtube videos of people using it.

Take Two
"I just have to ask why people are so emotionally moved by this whole election thing? People bawling and chanting at a victory rally? These people are simply public servants, politicians. Nothing more nothing less. They are not gods and I find that people who look at them that way perplexing. The idea that a person is endowed by god to rule went out with the kings and queens.
The fact is, Gov't cannot solve people's problems, even though more and more people think so, only people can solve their own problems. That is why people are constantly disappointed in gov't."
I just pulled this from a favorite forum I think it sums it up its not ones sided it is just someones idea of what happened, how emotions get mixed into the election. I liked it.

IM BACK
After some time away (got married, went on a honeymoon, caught up on everything.) I'm back. Well what to talk about on the morning after the election hhhmmmmm maybe the election. It turned out as I thought it would with Mr. Obama taking the win. As angry and disgusted as I am right now and last night, it is time to get over it and start gaining a respect for a new president. This will probably make some people wonder, but I am not going to sit here and take stabs at the guy who is going to be president for the next 4 years at least. I think if he is going to be president, I will have respect for him. I had talked with some people while in Rome about having a certain respect for our leaders, saying you don't have to like everything they do but there has to be a level of respect still in place because they are our leaders. So I am sticking to what I said. So to anyone that wants to "throw it in my face" that Obama won save your breath or your typing because it is over one side won and it wasn't what I was pushing for but there is nothing to do about it now, so I will take a positive stand about the whole thing. Please feel free to comment.

Politically correct
Politically correct: This goes a little over board I think. This got me thinking after I went and voted. On the backside of the ballot there was a vote yes or no to change wording in the constitution about taking the word idiot out. I mean yeah idiot is slang now but it used to be a defined word that described someone. Well this just got me thinking about other ways to be politically correct.
For example, African American is politically correct when talking about a black person. But seriously does this make since. I mean I am not a Irish/englis/german American, I think saying African American is like saying where I am originally from. Maybe if a black american was from Africa and lived there part of their life it would be ok but seems more degrading, but what do I know I am not black so do not know how I would feel about it.
alright sorry this is short, no means to take offense to anything I said. Just thinking through something.

busy this week
I am trying to get everything done at work to be gone next week. Lots to do and lots on my mind like little stuff I need to do before Saturday and with the bachlor party tomorrow night and the rehearsal and dinner friday I gotta do everything tonight. craziness!
The Kia of Des Moines ad is "Up to 7000 minimum trade"
"up to" its like they say up to and minimum trade which one is it the contradict each other.
I hate their ads anyone and the fact that the ads are tacky and the cars are crappy kind of goes hand in hand I guess.

Fireproof
So Lindz and I went and saw the movie everyone has been talking about. Everyone says how the movie has made guys buy their wives or significant others gifts and start treating them differently. The movie as a whole was good, this is one of those movies where the message is what is important and what makes it a good movie. The acting was a little rough, it took me about 20 mins into the movie before I could stop focusing on the acting and start focusing on the message. The movie was in the big theater at Jordan Creek, I was surprised by this after coming out of the movie. Fireproof was was in your face about a lot of different things, like how to treat your spouse, knowing Jesus Christ as your personal savior, and how these two things work together. A movie like this may have a effect on peoples hearts and my anger people that don't want to hear the message of the movie.Overall I thought the movie was pretty good and going into getting married on Saturday it shows a lot of what not to do. I would recommend the movie to just about anyone in a relationship. But when you go to watch it focus on the message not the acting.

Service during work hours
I am so sick of having to leave work and go meet services people at my house. The worst though was today when they were supposed to bring the fridge door (has a tiny dent) for the second time. The first time the one they brought was dented really bad. So when the lady called I was like as long as they take the door out and make sure it isn't damaged before they call me at work and have me meet them there. She assured me it would go smoothly. So I go meet them out there at 10 a this morning and guess what they had the complete wrong door. Big waste of my time 15 minutes out there 10 minutes there while they try and figure out their challenging job of getting the right thing on the truck and checking to make sure it is right and then 15 minutes back to work. Thats 40 minutes wasted of my day not to mention the gas I wasted going over there and back and take that times two because this is the second time they have done this. So of course I had to call and let them know what I though (chew them out) and find out the person I need to talk to is gone today. So I call the builder I mean they are the reason I am having to do this in the first place. I had to meet a guy there yesterday to replace cabinets he had everything he needed it was quick at a set time so that worked out. Now I am supposed to meet Direct TV out there between 9-1 I told them I couldn't afford to sit and wait for them to get there so I convinced them to call me 30 min before they were going to come and it is a good thing cause it is almost 12 and they have yet to call. Hopefully this afternoon goes smoothly with Direct TV otherwise I am going to blow up. Customer service at its best once again.

knowing "people"
It is very important to know the right people these days. People can get you a long way. Name dropping in the right situation can land you business and could get you a job. It can also get you good deals among other things. What is really important is keeping a good relationship with a lot of people. Things can turn on you real fast if you piss the wrong person off. I am not speaking of any specific situation I just think it is important to have positive relationships with people in general because it will help you get somewhere in life. If you are known to many as an ass hole there are going to be a lot of closed doors. When you have a negative experience with people it can turn around and really burn you or them depending on which way the door swings. I am not the type to hold grudges but I know people that will stop at nothing until someone they dislike is drivin into the ground.

Let me Make something CLEAR
What I write in my blog is Rants and Raves, or whatever I feel at the time. I am not trying to be politically correct and not trying to state the facts, just trying to voice my opinions and some reasoning behind my views. This is a different from the BIG word mumbo jumbo you will read on political site or news sites or hear on TV. This is a real person talking not trying to follow the rules of anything out there. Just to make that clear.
Another thing is I respect everyone that has their own opinion and think thats what is great about this wacked out country we live in. Everyone has there own views on different issues and thats great. I don't agree with everything a republican does or everything a democrat does but I do have OPINIONS on somethings that I have noticed that go unsaid just about everywhere else.
As for our welfare programs, they are messed up now and obviously don't work but there are people out there that need these programs to survive and there are people that deserve to take advantage of it, but the problem is, it is not regulated enough to make it fare.
Anyway I got to get back to work just thought I would clear up what this blog was all about.
My writing doesn't always make sense going from brain to keyboard but thats how I like it I am not checking these things over to hand into a english teacher.

So my sister-in-law wrote this note on facebook I am assuming after the debates last night. But it just seems right for everyone my age that is for Obama because he makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside when he talks maybe you should start taking a deeper look. I mean how do you feel about going to work everyday working your ass off knowing that some low life is sitting on their ass watching their new big screen and paying for their food with food stamps that YOU paid for. Well the democrats are all for increasing the aid for these types of programs....so as long as your ok with supporting the lazy asses of society with your paycheck then VOTE FOR CHANGE....your change going to other people instead of into your bank account.
Here is her note...
Election Views Excerpts - Socialism/Racism
Although I can respect Barrak Obama, I cannot in good faith vote for someone who seems to want to take our country closer and closer toward the ideas of a socialist society. Our country was founded on the principle of each individual deserving the right to the PURSUIT of happiness. We are not entitled to it! As soon as the government starts taking over the private sector, our freedoms begin to dwindle. It is not the job of the government to take my money and spread it out among the people. That’s what they do in China (communism/socialism)! And I’m pretty sure the majority of Americans would rather suffer a bit financially than be oppressed. That seems to be Obama’s idea of a good government and the moment you head towards any type of high socialism, it gets a little scary!
So ok, let’s rescue this country. The government has a right to do that. But once it’s rescued…. BACK OFF! We need less government involvement in our everyday lives, not more!
I am so tired of hearing about racism in this campaign. If Colin Powell were running, hands down, I'd vote for him. He's brilliant, honorable and has years of experience. Obama did nothing to allay MY fears. I truly believe that this man is dangerous. People revert most of the time, there are exceptions, to how they grew up. Principles/actions/doctrines/beliefs were ingrained into our brains from the time we were born. As a full grown adult, how often do we really deviate from our past (get past points of immaturity and adolescence). Obama has no experience and operates on what other people in his party tell him to do. One person puts it this way, "In all reality, if he were not black, he would have been laughed out of the Democratic primaries by his own party because of his lack of experience. His party is saying that the only reason someone would NOT vote for him is that he is black. The reverse must then be true. The only reason they are voting for him is that he IS black. They are setting our country up for a civil war; if McCain wins, we may be looking at riots of record proportions." (News Forum quote). He truly doesn't have experience. Running a campaign and voting undecided in the Senate is not political experience in my eyes.
And although democrats have controlled the House and Senate for the past 2 years, some people think the following...
I think that McCain won but I really want Obama to win the election so this country can learn what the Democrats are really about. They will also be in charge of everything and will no longer be able to blame the other party for everything even though they will try. Everyone thinks they are for the working man but in reality they love welfare and social programs and will raise taxes to support them. I have nothing against helping people who really need help but I’m sick and tired of my tax dollars going to people who don’t have a clue to what work is. I live in South Carolina which is such a nice place to live but the medicaid and food stamp program is so full of fraud and abuse that it’s sickning. The politicians will do nothing about it because they are afraid of losing votes. That’s one example of why I’m looking forward to the democrats being in charge of eveything so americans will wake up and realize why the democrats have had trouble holding onto the white house over the years.
p.s. McCain truly isn't even a Republican. He's a democrat in Republican clothes. Sarah Palin is a Republican. It blows my mind that people even try to compare McCain to Bush. McCain is much farther "left" than Bush is.

Wendys is fast food!
I keep hearing this commercial on the radio that is a Wendys commercial and they say at the end of all of them "It's way better then fast food, It's Wendys" Sorry Wendys but you are as fast food as it gets. SICK. I can't believe a fast food companies marketing campaign and slogan is based on saying they are not fast food, is this so the fatties that eat that crap feel better about themselves? Thats about the last thing we need is fat people thinking they are not eating fast food when they have Wendys Those resturants should have to have a warning label on them like cigarettes. I mean the number one reason our health care costs are high is because of fat people, and then smokers. Thats all for now, but stop blaming health care companies for high rates and start blaming fat people and smokers.

Jimmy Johns
I think Jimmy Johns yesterday did bad things to my stomach. I eat there every once and a while and have never had a problem but since I ate it yesterday I have had a horrible stomach ache and I am convinced it is from that. Really boring post today because I am reworking a design that I spent all last week on and by reworking I mean starting over my last one sucked and everyone agreed.

Sarah Palin
I love all the talk about her. Every liberal out there has something to say about Palin, how dumb she is, how inexperienced she is, how she doesn't know what shes doing, and on and on and on. But guess what people, she is running for vice pres, shes not the one we should be focused on. Personally I think shes great, she has good tastes in glasses and shes a hockey mom. Hockey moms are tough they put up with a lot and even with her flaws that everyone likes to focus on, technically she has more executive experience then that other guy who is running for PRESIDENT not VICE-President. I mean if we want to get technical. Shes real, not a fake figure like Hilary or even the other 2 candidates along with her running mate.
McCain is one smart man, he brings her in and all of the sudden all the democrats start ripping on her for everything and complain about her and almost forget that they are going against McCain not Palin directly. He must be a pretty bright OLD man. Did you see his mom who is like in her 90's stand up and wave at his speech during the republican convention shes pretty wrinkly but still kicking.
haha I hope everyone enjoys this...

COFFEE

So Coffee in the morning is my new thing. Wakes me up and gets me moving. Today is the first day I put the coffee in a travel mug thing that I probably was given when I had my Jeep considering it has "Only in a Jeep" on the front of it. I cant drink it black but with a little coffee mate french vanilla I am good to go. I should have probably made sure all the soap was rinsed off the cap though, that mixed with coffee tastes horrible. So this whole coffee drinking thing also saves me money because I no longer go to starbucks as often.

HOMEOWNERS
Lindz and I closed on our house last night. Awesome...! We right away started moving stuff in and Lindz pretty much has the whole kitchen put together with stuff. I managed to put a lamp together and hang a set of curtains over the front window and make a huge mess in the living room. Tonight = painting night. Should be interesting I am thinking I can probably get more done then I actually can. I will post some pics on here when things get back in order and maybe on facebook for all those stalkers.

I would hate to be in politics
It would be horrible if the complete focus was on bringing out your flaws. No one is perfect on this earth, not even close. I am sick of everyone focusing on the bad in people. Well we all know the that people have strengths and weaknesses I just think when talking about someone who may be the next president or vice-president of the United States we need to focus on the positives. I am not saying the weaknesses shouldn't be brought up those are really important things to know but do we need to focus on the weaknesses more the the strengths? I think the commercials of the two bashing the other one are ridiculous. I am so sick of hearing about politics and here I am talking about it, oh well I guess it got to me.
It is scary to think that our country will have a leader based on a popularity contest of who is the bigger of the 2 (or 4) celebrities, who is to old and who is to young.
So far this thing is a joke, but I guess it was four years ago too.

P4 WoW

http://www.cervelo.com/bikes.aspx?bike=P42009
The p4 is out and slowtwitch is going crazy about it. I wish I could cough up $4800 bucks for a frameset or even better $6800 for SRAM Red but what would that be without a set of zipps for some bling factor so were looking at around 10k or a little more. Man my next bike is going to cost me. Lindz would never approve of that unless I won the lottery or something.
EDIT: I will refer to my first post and forget I saw this bike, and change the title.
You are my sunshine...
So yesterday a kid (maybe high school possibly college age) came into our office. He said he was from some church that believed in world peace and not seeing races and colors of people. He then said he was in a leadership program and part of his training was to be able to sing to strangers. He then asked if he could sing to two of my co-workers, then he began to see you are my sunshine I was holding my mouth not to laugh and my co-workers were bursting out in awkward laughs as he sang. He pulled out a box of sun catchers made of sea shells to try and sell them or take a donation. when denied he moved onto the next set of desks where he gave his talk again but didn't sing my boss said nicely were not interested and we need to get back to work can you please leave then he kept talking so my boss was more stern about him leaving then he stopped at my desk and knocked on my desk I was like crap should I leave my headphones on and pretend I have music plying and ignore him or acknowledge him? Before I had time to answer that my boss yelled "hes not interested either, now please leave so my employees can get back to work" So the kid left.
Great story, entertaining too. The sad part is this is the kind of crap that gives Christianity a bad name. I mean sounded more like a cult. Probably was one. Or maybe it had nothing to do with church maybe he just wants money and is annoying as possible until he gets something whatever it is or was the kid is brainwashed.
Thats it for now...

Politics Not so Much
I was going to write about my view on the up and coming election...I know everyone would love to read it and it would probably piss a few people off and some would most likely agree but I am not in the mood to write anything about the up-coming election. I am really sick of hearing about other peoples strong views one way or another really only one way bothers me but really thats because most people that I disagree with do not have any reason except hating on the other side of things for no apparent reason, like stupid reasons and using words like hate.
ok I will say something....
if someone makes promises and basis a campaign around it but doesn't say one thing about how they are going to make it happen. That persons supporters are a bunch of suckers falling for that, I mean we all want to hear those words and know they need to happen no matter what side we are on but honestly how can you just hear them think it is great and not expect a way of action or even a plan to bring about those words. I don't get it. He can sure speak and draw me in with his words but all I have to do is think about what he said and realize he didn't say anything about HOW he is going to make it happen.
More to come but you have to do more then tell me what every American wants to hear, you have to tell me HOW it is going to happen. Not just use marketing with signs that say words I want to hear on them. Props on the marketing though, but I hate when logos are used as letter....sick.
So I got a little more into then I thought I would on a Friday afternoon. So Sorry....

Sharing the Road
As more and more people are starting to commute by bike and biking as a source of transportation the more these people are going to be on the road with cars, trucks, and buses. As someone that has commuted by bike and rode on the road many times I know that there are a lot of drivers that don't understand the concept of sharing the road. You would think people would think to themselves man this guy or woman is riding to work good for them they are helping stop our dependency on oil and helping the environment and getting exercise. Instead people think that stupid bike needs to get on the sidewalk or get off the road. Crazy people don't understand that riding on the sidewalk is not only uncomfortable but also probably more dangerous then riding on the road, because of all the intersection you have to cross where cars are turning into or out of.
So heres the deal, if you see a bike riding on the road, don't get mad if you have to slow down and wait to pass them safely, it is hardly worth the couple seconds verses possibly hurting or killing a cyclists that is just trying to save a buck on gas or doing some good for our environment.
I agree with the fact that just because you are on a bike doesnt mean you should be able to run stop signs and red lights. If you are going to ride on the road you follow the rules of the road.
Don't be surprised if you brush past a cyclist and the cyclists gives you the finger, it is going to happen and if your lucky enough to get stopped at the next stop light and the cyclist catches you I bet your car will get a new look on "accident" maybe a nice scratch down the side or a kicked out mirror whoops.
Share the road, please.

Satisfied with what we have
So we live is this crazy world where things a possessions kind of RULE! What kind of car you drive, how big is your flat screen TV? How nice is your house? Home much it cost? How many karates is that ring? What is your job? What does it pay? Where is your Coach bag? Where are you vacationing? and on and on and on.
It is easy to get caught up in all this when friends and family around you have some thing you my want. I am guilty of this I always want more can't ever be satisfied with what I have. Thats just it I realize it. Being aware of it makes it better. Working on being satisfied with where I am. I mean I have it made I have a good job, I am getting married, my fiancee has a good job, we just bought a house. I have a few bikes and am able to do triathlons.
No one seems satisfied anymore. Everyone wants a different job, a bigger house, to live in a different state and on and on and on it goes. It is okay to be a little unsatisfied I mean you would have to be to move up in the work world, to have drive to succeed is one thing but jumping around trying to find satisfaction through new jobs new toys or new houses is not ever going to work. There is always something new. I mean if I went and bought a new road bike I have been wanting from Bikeworld I would be satisfied for what like a week before I had to start making upgrades on it and then I would be on to something else I am sure.
So from now on I am focusing on all the great things I have and not on all the things I want in life, I am done making myself crazy over the newest thing I have to have. Don't get me wrong I still want that new bike but I am not focused on it I am focused on all the great things I have going right now.
The grass is always greener on the other side, careful though the dog shits there too...
